Türkiye Sustainable Aviation Alliance (TSAA) has brought together experts from diverse fields in a series of roundtable meetings to develop a roadmap for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) that addresses Türkiye’s unique needs.
The third meeting in this series, titled “Short- and Long-Term Goals for Developing SAF Production Strategies: Policy Perspective,” was held on August 27, 2024, at the Holiday Inn Express. This session continued the platform’s SAF Roadmap initiative, concentrating on policy strategies to support SAF production.

The meeting began with an opening address by TSAA Coordinator Prof. Hülya Cebeci, followed by presentations from founding members Turkish Airlines and Boeing Türkiye, who provided insights into the alliance’s initiatives and the future of SAF. Two Q&A sessions fostered a productive exchange of ideas on SAF, addressing topics such as certification, regulatory frameworks, and operational processes. Representatives from various public institutions shared perspectives on the current landscape and discussed potential next steps. Emphasis was placed on the importance of continuing with specialized working groups to delve deeper into raw material sourcing, testing, and certification processes. Ministry representatives expressed their commitment to supporting these efforts and actively participating in advancing SAF development.
